Indeed, the energy and climate change page at Whitehouse.gov now shows a photo of the president walking and smiling in front of oil pipeline sections, and the White House never neglects an opportunity to tout its support for domestic oil and drilling and what it calls an ‘all of the above’ energy strategy.

One of the things government should be around for is to deal with  catastrophes. It should do that well. To me, that’s a government  function, and we shouldn’t be playing political games with it.
