THE MASTER [2012]
directed by paul thomas andersoncinematography by mihai malaimare jr.

The first motion picture in 16 years to be filmed entirely on 65mm format using Panavision’s System 65 camera. This process can be projected into 70mm. The last full-length motion picture to be shot in 65/70mm was Kenneth Branagh’s 1996 adaptation of William Shakespeare’s “Hamlet.” Paul Thomas Anderson had his editor cut the film with a pair of scissors.

Nothing—not the heat, the headaches, the honking, the muted social life—saddens me about moving here except missing this. I’ve looked desperately, to no avail. If someone knows of a showing anywhere here, perhaps maybe even anywhere in Asia, do tell. I will do nearly anything.
